3 Stages to Rebuilding Your Health and Designing Your New Lifestyle

There are 3 stages to rebuilding your health and designing your new lifestyle:

            1. Demolition of Dysfunctional Behaviors and Bad Habits
Isolate the habits that have brought you to your current state/condition of  unhealthy disrepair.

            2. Build Your Foundation of Wellness
Create a blueprint for healthy habits and design your new life!

            3. New Construction of a Healthy Lifestyle
Put your design in motion and continue building your healthiest YOU.

The journey to a lifestyle of health is a process.  It’s important to dissect and then put a plan of success into action.  One step at a time.  Soul searching, commitment, discipline, honesty, humility are a few words that come to mind when a program is begun.

I am taking you on a Focus Program start to finish.  Her name is Chile and her goal is a size 16 now and wants to get down to a size 9/10 (re-evaluation at size 12 to see if wants to continue).  Two weeks to turn 56 years young and not feeling very good about herself.

The first thing we did was list 3-5 goals that Chile wanted to accomplish.  She had a long list so it was somewhat of a task prioritizing what was more important to her right now and figure out her strategy for accomplishing her goals successfully.  It was major soul-searching time.  How did this happen (now the honesty and humbling)?  I eat really good and I walk a lot.  I need to quit smoking, which is on my list, and probably need to slow down on the alcohol consumption (just a little).  She says, “I’m ready and committed to this” so I’m going to do it.  I know it has to change.  I don’t feel good about myself.  I don’t feel good period.”

Now the fun begins.  We’ve decided to start with a 7-day juice fast, decrease cigarettes, and cut down on the alcohol consumption.  A visit to the local farmers market purchased fresh, organic fruits, vegetables, and herbs.  All of the food was cleaned and bagged and now ready for blending.  She got her exercise by walking to and from the market plus ran a few extra errands.  It added up to about a 3 hour walk.  The latter half carrying groceries.  Very excited and ready to get started, she has a good, cooked dinner (since  it will be 7 days before she can eat anything cooked).  She also decided to go to the local bar for the last time to say good-bye.  I chuckled a little.

Day one, a little freaked out about being hungry and suddenly hasn’t a clue as to what to prepare.  So she just starts dropping greens in the juicer along with lemon, ginger, spirulina, red pepper and cucumbers.  Now the taste test.  Her thoughts, “I can’t believe I’m doing this but here it goes!”  She ended up liking the juice and is now making recipe cards for detoxing green juice and is so proud after only 1 day!  It’s awesome!  She’s having a little harder time with the cigarettes.  Determination is what I hear in her voice.  She’s also very happy that she is instilling the discipline she’s been needing for a long time back into in her life.

Stay tuned for Chile’s progress.  She is starting off with a good attitude but I’m sure her journey will take her down some uncomfortable roads along the way.
